11/2 pound steak (pounded/tenderized and then cut in strips) I used to use Round Steak but any cheaper cut of meat is good.
2 Tbls. butter or olive oil
1 can Campbell's® Golden Mushroom soup
1 can tomato soup
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 clove garlic (crushed) or garlic salt to taste
1 jar canned white onions
1 package frozen Italian green beans - *can use canned in a pinch. (drained) I love the canned ones:)
In a deep frying pan or dutch oven:
Brown beef in butter or oil. Pour off excess fat.
Stir in soups, water, oregano and garlic.
Simmer 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. (Longer will break down meat, making it more tender.)
Add onions and simmer 20 minutes longer.
Add beans and simmer another 20 minutes. (*If using canned beans, just heat until warmed through.)
Serve over buttered noodles in a nice casserole dish.
