1 large head of cabbage
2 lbs ground beef
1 large onion (chopped)
1 cup uncooked *rice
1 15oz can sauerkraut
1 28-32oz can tomato puree
4 Tbls. brown sugar
Salt, pepper, paprika and Tabasco®
In large kettle, bring to boil, 1 large head cabbage.
Mix together (raw) ground beef, uncooked rice (*Uncle Ben's is best) and chopped onion.
Roll into drained cabbage leaves (amount depends on size of leaf) tuck in corners and layer in kettle, tuck-side down with sauerkraut.
Sprinkle with spices & brown sugar over all and top with puree.
Cover to top of rolls with water and add a few drops of Tabasco®).
Bring to a boil, reduce heat, partially cover with lid and,
Cook & simmer at least 25-30 minutes.
